CLIENT, PROBLEM & TASK

CLIENT, PROBLEM & TASK

The Loyola University New Orleans Music program has an opportunity to create a centralized Music Library Archive that transforms scattered student work into a cohesive, interactive digital platform.

By improving access, discovery, and storytelling, the hub would strengthen program visibility while preserving student creativity in a lasting, dynamic archive.

Without a centralized platform, student-created music remains fragmented and difficult to discover, limiting recognition and long-term preservation. A unified archive elevates student voices, serves as a dynamic resource for faculty, and showcases the creative impact of Loyola’s music community.

THE IDEA

THE IDEA

The core idea for this project is a Music Library Archive Website that transforms how student-created music is stored, shared, and experienced through a centralized, interactive digital platform.

This project addresses the fragmentation of student-created music across multiple platforms, making it difficult to access, preserve, and promote. It solves issues of limited visibility, inconsistent branding, and the lack of a permanent archive for student work within the Loyola University New Orleans Music Business program.

PRELIMINARY RESEARCH

PRELIMINARY RESEARCH

The primary users are faculty and community members exploring student music to gauge quality and credibility. Each group benefits from easier access to student music, program achievements, and collaborative opportunities.

Similar solutions like Spotify playlists and university music pages. Spotify playlists in particular feel familiar and shareable, yet they strip away student identity, project purpose, and program connection. The key gap is a platform that combines listening with clear storytelling and program context, something none of these tools do well in one place. They succeed at fast playback and easy sharing but fail to provide meaningful context, academic credibility, or structured discovery.

Studio A Music Library, however it’s a sync where by partnering with Studio A, you’ll have the ability to make money from your music and gain exposure through sync licensing. It’s one of the best ways to get your music into visual media such as TV Shows, Film, and Ads.

The design approach centers on creating a centralized, user-friendly digital hub that integrates streaming, searchable archives, artist profiles, and program storytelling into one cohesive platform. It prioritizes accessibility, intuitive navigation, strong visual identity, and long-term scalability to ensure the archive grows with future student contributions while reinforcing the program’s brand.
